A destination charger is not there to rescue a low battery on the road. It is there to make charging invisible: the car charges during the hours it is parked anyway, at the place the driver was already going.

The guest is not waiting for the car; the car is waiting for the guest. That is the whole point — and the reason AC is the natural technology for destinations, not a compromise.

Available on arrival is the promise

The value of a destination charger is not speed. It is certainty: that a point is free when the guest pulls in, and that the car is full when they leave. That removes charging anxiety from the trip planning, which is when the destination is actually chosen.

Certainty is a design task. Enough points for the number of parking spaces, uptime that is monitored, and clear signage and pricing so nobody has to guess.

Smart AC means more points, not more power

Because AC hardware and installation are modest, the same site budget buys several points rather than one. Ten guests charging overnight is a better outcome than one guest charging quickly while nine wait — and a single faulty unit becomes an inconvenience instead of an outage.

Load management shares the property's existing capacity across the points, so the site scales without a heavy grid upgrade. That is also what makes an operator-funded model possible.

Dwell time beats speed at a destination

At a hotel, campsite or summerhouse the car typically stands still for eight to twelve hours. It does not need to absorb a week's worth of driving in twenty minutes. It needs to be full by morning, quietly and without intervention.

AC fits that rhythm exactly. The car is plugged in when the guest arrives and full when they leave. No queue, no app to learn, no staff member needed.

The owner economics

In an operator-funded model the owner pays nothing for hardware, installation or ongoing service. Each kWh delivered earns the owner a fixed 1 krone, paid out monthly. The guest pays the day's electricity price plus a fixed markup.

The owner keeps their own electricity agreement for the property. The charging sessions are metered separately, so the guest's payment never mixes with the owner's electricity bill.
